Ugly Day in the Valley!!!

Anybody else notice that today was especially nasty in the structure and field fire department?? My VECC fire freq's have been going nonstop all afternoon...

I noticed VECC Response 1 was in use for a fire up on Kennecott property. I have not heard traffic on this channel since SLC Fire patched to it and Response 6 when they were re-doing their structure.

Its been a really bad a busy week:

Destiny Norton missing then found dead.
1 year old drowns and dies in bathtub
2 Haz-mat spills yesterday, 1 requiring large evacuation area overnight
The large Apt. fire that caused many injuries

I agree Hook....that is the first time I have ever heard the VECC fire disps. sending units to channel five just for a response. If we had had another major fire in the valley during that mess, well....<ugh>

the harriman /camp williams fire was a thriller to listen too.that is the kind of scanner listening i like.had bearcat 9000xlt/radio shack 2040 and bearcat 895xlt all listening in across VECC and UCAN frequencies.the hood was definitely a gone with the wind......

You should have seen the fire from less than 100' away.

It burned to 15' of our house - but I didn't witness that part as UPD wouldn't let me back up to help save the neighborhood.
