These repeater systems used to be operated from Arpad's (VA3VAD) house (near Parkdale) when they first became live and were under a different call sign of VA3LOW. However very shortly after, they were moved to Huey's (VE3DJZ) house in downtown Hamilton on Beechwood (near the Tim Hortons Field). But there has also been some confusion around these repeaters.

The frequencies changed about 3 times when the first launched the machines, along with the color codes, TPL/DPL tones, and as previously stated the locations. At one point, the repeater was listed on "Repeaterbook" as being located at the Tim Horton's Field... though highly unlikely that was the truth.

As @mbstone99 mentioned, back in May he was a "victim" to a series of Arson attacks that happened in the downtown area. From the photos I could see, it appears to have knocked out the back room of his house (with the glass sliding door), and the shed in the backyard. Presumably, a lot of the equipment in said areas of the house might not be in an operational condition anymore... Not to mention since the fire, he doesn't live there anymore... so the repeaters... if salvaged, would've moved to another location.

The range on the repeaters weren't bad if you were local. Covered downtown Hamilton without an issue. However, anything over the Burlington Skyway... you lost it, and same coming into Niagara Falls area. These repeaters also weren't heavily utilized by many in the amateur radio community.

Meh. A "Hamiltoin" repeater that's not on the mountain? Waste of equipment...

Can't imagine why hams would avoid parties (VA3VAD/VE3DJZ) connected to the jamming of the Canada-wide DMR net. Lots of money wasted on new DMR radios, only to have repeaters shut off, leaving folks to play toy DMR radio at home through a hotspot. Ridiculous nonsense.
