UHF and VHF call being crossband repeated

Anyone notice that 446 and 146.52 are being repeated on one another? I'm in Manhattan, a station I contacted in Brooklyn said the source must be close to him out there. Started at least before 1pm, still going as of 3pm.

Hey man, I thought it was quirky. Also passed on a lot of illegible 2m traffic from the distance to 70cm, which is usually pretty hit or miss in the city in terms of getting through.

Last I checked never seen a rule that forbids doing what is done. Ive heard the same in other parts of the country. Anyway go on and use radios. disregard wierd info.
