Does anyone know anything about glass-mounted UHF transmit antennas? I saw a couple on Ebay and would like to put one on a company vehicle, but wanted to make sure they are decent.

Thanks.

They are not decent.

They do work if you have no other choice.

They are better than nothing, but not much. On top of that you have to be very careful about where they are mounted. And, since most car in this part of the country have tinted windows, they may not work at all if installed over the tint.

My experience with through-the-glass antennas has been less than favorable.

If you can't drill a hole... I'd suggest a mag mount or lip mount as an alternative.
