Hi,

This is my first post in this forum, and I am going to talk you about the UHF frequencies authorised for Maritime on-board Communications.

They are regulated by the ITU (ITU-R M.1174-4) and the ETSI (ETSI EN 300 720 V2.1.1) and they are used worldwide in big merchant and cruise vessels.

The spacements, frequencies and channels are the followings:

ANALOG MODE ONLY (25 KHz spacing):

Channel 1: 457,525 MHz
Channel 2: 457,550 MHz
Channel 3: 457,575 MHz
Channel 4: 467,525 MHz
Channel 5: 467,550 MHz
Channel 6: 467,575 MHz

ANALOG AND DIGITAL MODE (12,5 KHz spacing systems like DMR):

Channel 11: 457,525 MHz
Channel 12: 457,5375 MHz
Channel 13: 457,550 MHz
Channel 14: 457,5625 MHz
Channel 15: 457,575 MHz
Channel 21: 467,525 MHz
Channel 22: 467,5375 MHz
Channel 23: 467,550 MHz
Channel 24: 467,5625 MHz
Channel 25: 467,575 MHz

DIGITAL MODE ONLY (6,25 KHz spacing systems like dPMR):

Channel 102: 457,515625 MHz
Channel 111: 457,521875 MHz
Channel 112: 457,528125 MHz
Channel 121: 457,534375 MHz
Channel 122: 457,540625 MHz
Channel 131: 457,546875 MHz
Channel 132: 457,553125 MHz
Channel 141: 457,559375 MHz
Channel 142: 457,565625 MHz
Channel 151: 457,571875 MHz
Channel 152: 457,578125 MHz
Channel 161: 457,584375 MHz
Channel 202: 467,515625 MHz
Channel 211: 467,521875 MHz
Channel 212: 467,528125 MHz
Channel 221: 467,534375 MHz
Channel 222: 467,540625 MHz
Channel 231: 467,546875 MHz
Channel 232: 467,553125 MHz
Channel 241: 467,559375 MHz
Channel 242: 467,565625 MHz
Channel 251: 467,571875 MHz
Channel 252: 467,578125 MHz
Channel 261: 467,584375 MHz

For operation with repeaters, the offset is +- 10 MHz.

Hi BC_Scan,

Looking at your posts in the forum I have discovered a web page that I did not know: scanmaritime.com

I will take a look and will try to collaborate with the frequencies received in the northwest of Spain.

Greetings!

Yes we have been submitting data to him for years, the reason I highlighted your post is that forever despite his accurate website people ask whats the freq kenneth all the time ?
Keep up the reports especially with the spate of new mega city ships undergoing sea trial's at the moment 5000+ peeps etc

The repeater output is supposed to be the 457.xxx side, but I have heard them on the 467.xxx side be aware.
very true, but sadly the list is/was written with a Repeater in mind, however some have interpreted it based on Subscriber Units (portable, mobile etc) instead of Repeater

I am currently on the Odyssey of the Sea scanning 457.525-457.575 MHz in the MOTOTRBO/DMR mode right now.

The ships that pass me on their way in or out of Stockholm city are 50/50 if they use low or high as repeater output, cruises as well as tankers and big ferries. As everybody uses a unique CTCSS or DCS tone there's no risk that one repeater goes into another with inverted TX/RX and trigger each others squelch. I haven't logged one ship that uses the same tone as another ship. They must have some kind of international register that handles what CTCSS/DCS to assign to a ship?

Sadly there is no freq coordination. Each Cruise Line to it's own.
That said some of the Cargo have multiple Repeaters they can turn on/off by port depending on the interference

But for Cruise Ships, you would be surprised in/at a major port to see how much Hetrodyne and multiple repeater key-ups occur/occured in the analog days.

One time two Princess ships were in port at the same time, both 118.8 PL
One ship was 457.5250 in with 467.7500 out, the other ship was 467.7500 in with 457.5250 Out
Basically one major big DEAD Carrier till one of them left :)
