Until you max out the system...I have some trunking systems nearing 3,000 tagged UID's.

Not for the 436. You can add radio IDs until the Favorite List hits the 1MB size limit. If you only have one system in the Favorite list, you can add a LOT more than 3000 IDs.

I have a favorites list which I use in 436s, 536s, and an SDS200, where I managed to get 15k+ RIDs in before I hit the 1MB limit. That system has 300+ sites and a couple thousand talkgroups as well. If you had less sites and/or TGs I bet you could add more.

That system in my FL is now over 20k RIDs known, 2100 TGs, and 340 or so sites, so it's well over 1MB if I try to put it all in.

I have a FL with one 2 site system with about 130 TGs and 13598 UIDs and it's only at 754kb. If you can keep the sites down I think you can go pretty crazy with the number of UIDs.
