I was wondring if there is a way to add UID names for a digital conventional system, like you can for a trunked system? I have a SDS200 with Proscan, and know how to do it on the tunked side, but cannot see a way to do it on a convention system.

You would have to make it into a conventional networked system. Then you will be able to add your radio ID's. But not as a conventional channel.

What conventional system? CCan you link to it?

If you mean conventional freqs that are digital, then @ProScan will ask you when it detects a DMR freq if you would like to set it up as Oft.

It did not do it for me with a conventional P25 freq or NXDN freq though.

You can do it manually. Create a new system and select xxx one freq. Then you can then add unit id's

Our county (Jefferson, WI Jefferson County, Wisconsin (WI) Scanner Frequencies and Radio Frequency Reference) is going with a simple digital system with currently only 3 frequencies digital. I did not purcahse the DMR option for the scanner, but could if needed. Just thought it would make monitoring easier if I could put in the UID alias that we are using, and not just showing the numbers.
You have to know what kind of digital system, then you would follow advice from @dave3825 in post 3 and set up as a one frequency trunked system.

From what I know, its just P25 phase 1, nothing special. I would then have 3 systems, one for each of the frequencies correct?

If its a p25 trunked system you would just add uid's as with any other p25 system. If they were going with 3 digital freqs, that would just be conventional freqs and you would set up 3 systems to obtain radio id's (uid) for each freq.

As with all proposals, this could all change.

Request for Proposals for a County-Wide Simulcast P25 Conventional Radio system

They will use this information to notify you of any changes or updates to the original Jefferson County WI Public Safety Radio System RFP that may occur. Jefferson County Wisconsin Applications

The info above was obtained by searching "Jefferson County WI public safety Radio system"

You better hope they go with option 1 as options 2 & 3 mention Aes Encryption for Law.

Three options were considered, with Option 2 being Elert & Associates’ recommended solution for the public safety radio system in Jefferson County.

It is the 2nd option that was went with, but encryption will only be used as needed by LE. I will try and set this up as 3 systems, and go from there. I have it working just fine as conventional, but will see how I can get the UID's entered. Thank you for the help.

Yes, the system is about to go live with final testing happening now. The frequencies are being reused from the analog system - 154.860, 155.775, and 154.370 all with NAC of 280.

In this case, yes, 3 separate P25 One Frequency set ups will give you what you are looking for.

But before you do all of that, you might want to ask if enc is in use in this thread.

Thank you! I will take your advice and setup the scanner that way. Encryption is only being used as needed by LE, and is not going to be full time. I actually sit in on the radio meetings, and can confirm that.

Are you looking to text tag Radio ID's? (Ex. UID 1000- Dispatch/UID 1100 Car 11 etc.) If so, it must be set up as a P25 One Frequency Trunk.
