UMAB Campus Police Newbie Question

Is the Freq 494.91250 actively used by the UMB campus police. I am on the campus and don't hear a thing! I am a newbie, but managed to program my RS pro 96 to listen in on Balt City PD and MSP Heli landing at the trauma center. Any Suggestions?

Funny you should mention this freq. I've been trying to recover the PL tone for this freq the past couple of days and have not heard anything either. In the past, I've always heard this extremely well and they're fairly busy - a fact of being in downtown Baltimore. But not a peep for two days anyway.

UMAB has a PL of 210.7. UMBC is 155.55 with a PL of 136.5.

Eric, I sure hope they haven't moved to the trunked system only. Who can afford to use up a trunked bank just for them? We've got a member here who posts occasionally that is a dispatcher on that force. Perhaps she'll pop in, see this question and clear it up for us.

Thanks! I will try it with the PL and see if i can hear anything. I will ask around and see if any of the security or police personnel will give me some info. I dont know if they just give that type info out, but it is worth a shot.

I think the security is on the trunked system. From talking with their police officers, it seems they have no plans to migrate to te trunked system anytime soon.

You don't hear anything on 494.9125 because we have had alot of communications problems with that freq. We had to go to our secondary channel which is 495.2375 both Police and Security operate on this channel (Security always has a 9 in front of thier badge number for example a Security officer's Number is always 921 or 925 Police use
thier badge number with the shift number they are on. 6x2 shift - 2 ;
2x10 shift - 3 ; 10x6 shift - 1. So Police depending which shift they are on
are 121 or 221 or you may hear just the badge number without the shift)
for right now Police and Security share this Channel However we have been told when we get the new Communication Center in December(but I don't hold my breath on that date) Police will go to the new trunked system and Security will stay on the 495.2375 Freq.

The 495.2375 freq is loud and clear from my location. It is using DPL(DCS) 172. Cynthia, if you get a chance, what's behind the dispatcher being called "K Desk?" I'm sure there's a story there.

Does anyone have a list of the 10 Codes of Baltimore City? I can't seem to find them anywhere.

I have found many other 10 Code references, but I've noticed that Baltimore City is unique in some ways and I would love a specific reference.
