Unidentified FCC Licenses for Hampshire County, Massachusetts (MA)

Unidentified FCC licenses in Hampshire County in Massachusetts in the USA

Most of these seem to be known more as less - either as mutual aid channels or repeater inputs

The unknown unknowns are -

Pelham - is 151.265 used as input to Hatfield repeater ? - or is it really a Pelham channel?

Northampton - portables on the DPW license - 458.6625 - 458.9875 - licensed in 2015 - 81 mobiles at 4 watts each - ????

---------------------------

Really really unknown unknowns

not listed as unknown at RR - not listed at all at RR

Belchertown - 156.18 - the license now seems indicate that this is a FD channel

Williamsburg - FD - 159.2325 - maybe north end tac channel - licensed in 2015 iirc

Two answers:
154.7700 Rptr PL 203.5 (159.3825 input), Pelham Rptr {Pelham PD FCC license}
154.7700 Rptr PL 203.5 (155.9100 input), Goshen Rptr {State Police FCC license}
154.7700 Rptr PL 203.5 (151.2650 input), Hatfield Rptr {Hatfield DPW/PD license}

151.3475 simplex D205 is Pelham PD 2ndary channel (i.e. police details, etc). 151.265 is No longer used by the Town of Pelham at all.

to answer a million dollar question you haven't asked yet.... but I'll provide the answer (refer to scan-net, Western MA page):

* Hampshire Cnty police depts used to use VHF above. All towns have turned in their VHF mobiles/portables and gotten from State Police, 800MHz mobiles/portables now. So these towns have directly been on the 800 TRS for several months now {hence talkgroup ID 36912 (analog) & 2307 (P25 digital)}. Rumor has that 800MHz portables are failing to communicate, and those police officers are using VHF portables to hit the VHF rptr sites when out of cruisers. So some towns are 800 analog, some are in the P25 800 digital zones, and then portables are VHF crosspatched into both 800 zones (analog & digital) sites.

* The only sole town that hasn't switched over to 800 radios at all, is Pelham PD which plans to allegedly stay on VHF rptr, which works 100% for them, more reliable than the 800.

I won't get into how the SP 154.700 Goshen rptr system has failed many times, leaving lack of communications dating back many years of gross negligence by State Police officials. They lied on my public records request many times about the maintenance & management of the 154.770 police radio system, they knowingly erased emails that previously existed, but never got charged for destroying evidence/public records, go figure.. So yes, this Hampshire Cnty police radio system has been a disaster since they put "themselves" in charge of it.

cmpsa - iirc Hampshire County has a 700 mhz freq allocated for law enforcement mobile extenders (MO3)

Could that be a good solution? How much do MO3 cost? $1000 each? $10,000 each?

State Police C8 New Braintree used the 800 TRS for towns. Wales & Holland (had) no adequate coverage to be using the TRS, so that is why they got put on 44.740 PL 141.3 low band (transmits via Steerage Rock, Brimfield via SP microwave. Both town PD's were given several ~$13,000 800MHz mobile rptrs (823.9875 simplex PL 141.3), as these 2 towns have & use 800MHz portables. and yes another 30-40 were also installed in Hampshire Cnty police cruisers. All of these towns allegedly paid $0.00, so that's $520,000 worth of State (us taxpayers) paid for State Police owned assets given away like candy.

Wales and Holland has been on 44.74 since before the other C8 towns were on the trunking system.

Yes, and Holland PD was on 39.980 before that! ;) Both towns are hilly and have a large lake in the middle of them. The hills around these lakes impact 800 MHz quite a lot and coverage is very poor.
