Hello,
my TRX-1 has fall on a ground when connected to power supply by USB port and leads has been deatached from PCB board. It's out of warranty so i soldered new leads to socket and it seem to be working proper, power supply is working fine, usb data transfer is working also between PC and TRX.

Problem is that in first phase of turning on scanner there is an message on screen about loading data from SD card etc. but when Whistler logo appears there is nothing after that. No menu, scanning - anything.
I was able to flash CPU by EZ scan and it dosn't brought any effects. Also tried to turn it on on battery supply - no effect still stuck on logo.
Is there any way to "factory reset" by pressing keys combinations? Any ideas?

Regards

It seems to work in the microcontroller and load from SD card and so on but after the Whistler logo it should do the verifying data function, that never happens. Try to reformat the SD card and reload it, it could be some illegal file structure on it, and also check the SD card connector that it hasn't happened anything to it. The battery is heavy with a lot of live mass when you drop the scanner and makes a huge mechanical impact.

Wow I thought I was the only one with bad luck. I had the same thing happen to me.
Was it hard to get apart and fix? Mine is 3 years old so well out of warranty
Thanks for your post I don't feel as bad now.

Hello,
no there is no any specific screws, only one strip from keypad should be deattached before taking board off. Good idea is to desolder cover of copper screen to get better access to USB port. Please see attached pictures.

Thanks for reply, I tried to reformat card and create new system structure but still without effect. Today I will try to use different SD card, maybe there was some kind of short cicuit on it and it's not working proper.

qlink thanks for the great pictures.
I might get brave and have a shot at the repair.
I did take the back off to get a peek but didn't go any further as I wanted to listen to some police calls at the time.

Do you happen to have a picture with the back off? I took mine apart and the LED lens fell out and I can't seem to get it back in place correctly.
Much appreciated.
