Hey all, I’m in east-central NH, good elevation with a dual band antenna on the roof. I can basically pick up everything public safety from Mt. Washington down the Seacoast area, and over to Merrimack county. Even some northern MA. I’ve always been a bit interested in long range monitoring (shortwave, SSB, etc), but never really had the equipment for it. Also have an interest in listening to unconventional stuff, not just typical public safety. So, given my location, is there anything else I should be tuning into? Interesting businesses, utilities, data transmitters, federal agencies, military, marine traffic….? Just looking for ideas. Thanks!

Aside from the SW/SSB stuff, my custom "Search" lists are...
30-50MHz - VHF Low Band (10KHz steps)
150.500-162MHz - VHF High-Band (7.5KHz steps)
450-470MHz - UHF (6.25KHz steps)
162-174MHz - Federal VHF (12.5KHz steps)
400-420MHz - Federal UHF (12.5KHz steps)
From there I do some customs that include...
136-150.500MHz - Military/Federal VHF (and Amateur Radio 2 Meters, 12.5KHz)
380-400MHz - Additional Federal UHF (12.5KHz)
420-450MHz - Amateur Radio 70cm or "440" (12.5MHz)
931-939MHz - 900MHz (12.5KHz steps)
851-866MHz - 800MHz (12.5KHz)
Then I search it all, safety, business, stores, family, whatever I can receive and document/confirm.

Hope that helps a bit.

Hey that’s helps, thanks. I just need to spend some time with the scanner searching the airwaves. Side note, looking at your profile, you were with Fire Alarm? Also, do you currently have a feed up on Broadcastify? Thanks!

The Concord Fire Alarm feed is mine yes. I think there's a few others. Been running that one at least 10 years. Nothing too exciting, but it covers the basics.

Nice, I run the Merrimack Public Safety feed, it doesn’t seem to get too much traffic but every time it’s down for maintenance or something I get emails from a few people who listen all the time wondering when it will be back up so I keep it up for them, haha. I don’t think there are any other feeds that include Merrimack County PD’s. Pretty cool that I can pick it all up (including fire alarm) from my house in Wolfeboro.
