Hi Folks
This is my first post so be gentle with me.

I have a 400 meter underground dog fence, and it is off when dog is not out in the yard, is it possible to use this fence as a Loop On The Ground antenna, by using
a double pole double throw switch, so that position A is fence when I need it for the dog, and position B is the fence when I need it for antenna.
I would have the fence loop wired to the two central terminals on the switch.

Thanks Folks

Why can't you use a 100 foot long wire like the rest of us lol
LOG antennas do work. My only concern is that you forget
the switch position and dog runs away ?

I could swear someone asked that exact same question a little
while ago.

It may be worthwhile to look at

Safety first, make sure no ground currents exist (addressed somewhere in that thread)

and I second the dog running away comment.

Thanks

Yea the whole thing seems like a bad idea. You should
scrap the whole idea.
I wholeheartedly object... If he's interested in MW/ LW it could work great, even if just a test of the idea. If you do test it, please tell us how it went.

Thanks

The dog loss is to risky. One wrong switch setting and by by
fido. Stick with a 100 foot end fed wire antenna above the ground.
Good enough for Marconi good enough for me.
