When monitoring some of the PD's in Burlington county, in particular Evesham and Cinnaminson, I notice that when responding to a call an officer will say "Responding Priority 2." Anyone know what this means? Also, (and I notice this most on the P-8 channel) the dispatcher will dispatchers in "Zone 5" or "Zone 2" for an incident. What are these zones (North, South, East)? Or are they divised differently for each municipality?

I don't know if this goes for burlington county but in atlantic county Code 1 is slow your response, code 2 is normal response, code 3 is expidite. So if someone is responding code 1 it means they're taking their time, driving normal.

There are no county wide procedures for PD's on how they are handling calls, each individual PD can set up their own, Evesham uses Priority 1 as the highlest level (lights & siren) and goes down from there. Some of the PD's on NC P-3 use alpha, bravo, etc as response codes. As for zones, some have them, some don't. They designate a geographical area, I don't know what Evesham's are. Medford has 2 or 3 zones depending on the number of officers on duty.

In my town, there will usually be one car patrolling one "zone". So they're not all in the same spot so they could cover calls better.
