FYI, for anyone (like me) waiting forever for an RFGuys.com order, the following update has been posted on their website:

The owner of RFguys has recently passed away and we will be temporarily shutting down the website while we figure things out. This means we will not be receiving orders or shipping items from or to our customers. This shutdown could be anywhere from a couple of months to a couple of years. We are working hard to refund the 150+ orders that were placed before this time. If you ordered something and it never arrived and you want a refund, go to your order and say that the item never arrived, this way PayPal (after us reviewing your claim) will automatically fully refund your order.

During this shutdown, you will still be able to view the selection of items and add items to your cart, but you will not be able to order anything. After this delay we will continue RFGuys.com, selling the same items, on the same website for the same prices just managed by a different owner.

I hope this problem does not leave a lasting negative experience in our store. While we are sorting things out, please try to find an alternative radio parts retailer.

Sincerely,
RFGuys

A couple of years??? This does not sound good for anybody who may be waiting on an order. I've never ordered anything from this place but they might have to just cut off doing business all together if they're unable to recover a lot sooner than a couple of years or even a couple of months.

Did they take this notice down? i just looked on their site and didnt see anything more current than the "we are continuing despite covid" notice posted on march of 2020.

It does explain why my orders have not arrived. :(

It's a link to a word document at the very top titled "Update on RFGuys.com", you might want to refresh your browser.

Yeah I looked at their website too and didn't see anything. I did see the link at the top saying "please read" but when I click on it it pulled up a pop-up window asking which of my two Gmail accounts I wanted to use to view it. I just backed out of it.

Okay yeah I looked at it again, it's actually a link to a word document posted on google docs. RFGuys.com Update
I happened to be logged in to google docs already, that's presumably why I can see it. Incidentally I don't even see a way to "go to your order and say that the item never arrived".

I'm thinking a friend or family member is trying to curate the website and may know little or nothing about how the website store was operated and these instructions are inaccurate.

I don't want to sound rude and all my condolences to the family but if the business is down because one person died i think it says a lot on how that business was ran.

I think they mean to dispute the transaction on PayPal.

Lots of online businesses are run by one person because that's all that's needed, and the benefit of this type of business. Nothing normally wrong with that, as long as customers are served well. In this case, it's unfortunate there apparently wasn't a business continuity plan in place, but a few (tens of?) people will be inconvenienced for a little while, once, as a result. A guy died.

I believe they mean for you to go to PayPal and would have to file a dispute that the item(s) never arrived. PayPal sends them a refund request and it gets processed. I had to do this recently for a different matter and that was the process. Filing a 'dispute' sounds harsh, but that's the way it's done. It sounds like this was unexpected and they are dealing with it the best they can.

My point exactly. Had there been a business continuity plan, customers would be taken care of and much less burden on the grieving family and friends. As far as i'm concerned, i have 2 persons that know what to do if something should happen to me.

A couple of years is BS. No different to the online digital crap. You have no idea how its run. Could be someone in there apartment, to a legit business. I will stick with trusted vendors!

Even if they get every order sorted out in the next month or two, no one is going to sit around waiting a year or more for a new manager/owner to take possession and begin business operations again.

It may be cruel to say, but that business died when the original owner died.

They did have some unique products for programming old commercial radios. Many were not available anywhere else. I bought so me EFJ cables from them years ago and they work.
