To anyone looking to acquire commercial radio programming software:
Please do not make requests for copies of radio programming software which is sold (or was sold) by the manufacturer for any monetary value. All requests will be deleted and a forum infraction issued. Making a request such as this is attempting to engage in software piracy and this forum cannot be involved or associated with this activity. The same goes for any private transaction via Private Message. Even if you attempt to engage in this activity in PM's we will still enforce the forum rules. Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.
If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.
For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

I received a black-Friday email from Ray's Pager Sales. I need a G3 but with the 450-520 split. His site says to call for backorder timeline as they only have 400-470 split on hand.. So I did, and the voicemail on the business says Ray is not taking live phone calls due to his current battle with cancer. I mention this for 2 reasons; first so we can keep him in our prayers. Second, if anyone is in need to contact him for business reasons, to please be patient, you may be in for a wait. I have done business with this man in the past, great person. Hope he can beat this...

Perhaps it is easier for him to respond to emails rather than phone calls, this may be a better form of communications. While I typically use another dealer for my Unication needs, I agree that Ray is a good and honest dealer/person and deserves our prayers and business.

I’m sure that’s the reason he’s using emails only. I know a few people battling cancer, the treatments drain the life out of you.
I’ve given him business in the past. Personally I go with whoever has the best prices and has items in stock. However, Ray has been outstanding not only in sales but support too.

I bought a G 5 from Ray yesterday. Great man! spent a lot of time on the phone and with e-mails telling him my programming needs for the pager. Very good service now just waiting for it to be delivered . Wish Ray well

I just got a battery, and some other accessories, from Ray, and while we didn't talk on the phone, his response via email was unbelievably fast. I wish him well. That's a tough battle.

First let me start by saying it’s tough getting old. Second, I just realized I made a TERRIBLE mistake!
How the hell did I get this wrong, I have no idea.
In my original post I said I got a Black Friday email from Rays Pager Sales. The email was actually from East Coast Pagers in Long Island!
Therefore it is PHIL, from East Coast and NOT RAY from Rays Pager Sales who is battling cancer. I have done business with both and had been looking at both that day to purchase a G3. I sincerely apologize for this awful mistake.

Please read the post above yours, it is NOT Ray from Ray's Pager Sales that is sick.
Phil @w2lie has been battling with it for a long while now, one of the greats with both helping scanner users and Unication sales. I continue to hold him in my thoughts and prayers.
That was not Ray's voicemail, I believe you got that mixed up with another call. Ray is alive and well.
