• To anyone looking to acquire commercial radio programming software:

Please do not make requests for copies of radio programming software which is sold (or was sold) by the manufacturer for any monetary value. All requests will be deleted and a forum infraction issued. Making a request such as this is attempting to engage in software piracy and this forum cannot be involved or associated with this activity. The same goes for any private transaction via Private Message. Even if you attempt to engage in this activity in PM's we will still enforce the forum rules. Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

This is a large and very visible forum. We cannot jeopardize the ability to provide the RadioReference services by allowing this activity to occur. Please respect this.

I'm interested in getting a pager to monitor a couple of local P25 systems. I would like to pair it to my truck's BT input. The last comments I could find here on RadioReference were from 2020 and said that Unication only implements bt to work with phones. Has anything changed since 2020? It looks like some folks have successfully paired to their vehicles. Mine is a 2015 F150.

I have a 2014 Kia and my pager will connect and play through my cars speakers just fine.

I have a 2017 F150. The only thing that will pair with the sound system on it is a phone. I’ve tried numerous Bluetooth adapters. They will show connected but will pass no audio. I’ve given up trying to listen to my G4 in my truck. I have resorted to making up playlists with Broadcastify Calls. Then playing them on my phone Via Bluetooth to my truck.

I've had a similar result with my yaesu so I guess the issue is the Ford sync system not the pager?

It seems to be an issue with the newer Bluetooth in cars trying to connect to the older Bluetooth 2.0 in the devices. This is the one spot of the Gx series that is annoying. It would be great if a headphone jack existed; I used the one on the Minitor 2 all the time back in the day.

The size of a g5 vs an SDS100 on my dash and the idea of running audio to the truck via Bluetooth were 2 of the reasons I was considering the pager.

My F150 has no aux input jack. So if you are going to try and connect a SDS100 via a Bluetooth transmitter it’s probably not going to work. I tried to set up my SDS 200 in my truck with both a 5.0 and a 5.2 Bluetooth transmitters. Same as the G4 will show connected but will not pass audio. My 2012 Escape behaves the same way.

My 2015 has an aux input and I sometimes run my 436 to that. The 436 is big but stays in a ram xgrip I have setup on a builtright industries dash mount. I don't think that system would hold an sds100 due to the battery size and the overall shape.

@GILLIG40 Where did you mount the sds200?
There's no good mounting location in my truck. I put the yaesu body in the console and the head is on that dash mount. cables are routed through the trim into the dash. Had to drill a few holes but it's a clean install. @JoeBearcat how about a detachable face on the next gen SDS200?

My devices will pair with my Jeep's bluetooth, but it doesn't work worth a damn. Anytime audio tries to pass, the screen thinks it's an incoming phone call. It has an older Uconnect system so that's probably the issue.
