• To anyone looking to acquire commercial radio programming software:

Please do not make requests for copies of radio programming software which is sold (or was sold) by the manufacturer for any monetary value. All requests will be deleted and a forum infraction issued. Making a request such as this is attempting to engage in software piracy and this forum cannot be involved or associated with this activity. The same goes for any private transaction via Private Message. Even if you attempt to engage in this activity in PM's we will still enforce the forum rules. Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

Well he dont say much lol i am just wondering how the little pager is going to perform on p2 if its even capable vocoder wise.

Monitoring the forums is just one small aspect of my position at Unication I also provide all Product Support for all P25 Products, hand test each firmware release for any issues, and I am also the main field technician so I have to travel to customer sites on occasion so sometimes my time on the forums is limited to checking once every couple of days. I apologize if I have not performed to your expectations. I would like to inform you however that all requests and suggestions are taken seriously and I endeavor to get each one implemented.
The hardware of the G4/G5 is capable of P2 we have not implemented the AMBE+2 Vocoder (software) required to decode the voice traffic.

I also use the nar6595 motorola 3" antenna and love it, no miss communication inside or outside. Did have the trim bottem of antenna rubber for it to work. 5 second cut and boom full bars

Then hopefully my wish for PII, a TG hold button, and a scan delay with a user-programmable amount of time will happen! :p

Have the cash to buy one right now if they did it. Prolly would get a 2nd one for the car. But I'm holding off until those 3 things come out, otherwise, I really couldn't use it.

And I think the hold button would actually need to be a hold/scan button so you can make it start scanning again after you stopped and held on something.

I would go as far as to tell Unication to put their emphasis on the PII issue. There's work-arounds for those other things.

One user said he programmed an entire trunked system into one channel, and individual TGs in the other channel positions. When he hears something worthwhile while scanning all the TGs, he immediately switches channel to that specific TG. That works for me.

But if the radio itself doesn't work on, what is for me, a statewide PII system which is presently in operation, I'll hold off until they get the PII situations settled.

Hopefully, it will be well-worth the wait.
