• To anyone looking to acquire commercial radio programming software:

Please do not make requests for copies of radio programming software which is sold (or was sold) by the manufacturer for any monetary value. All requests will be deleted and a forum infraction issued. Making a request such as this is attempting to engage in software piracy and this forum cannot be involved or associated with this activity. The same goes for any private transaction via Private Message. Even if you attempt to engage in this activity in PM's we will still enforce the forum rules. Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

Has anyone been able to successfully pair a Unication G5 to Apple's Airpods? I can't get the G5 to recognize the airpods, nor can I get it to pair with a TAOTronics Bluetooth Receiver either.

My G5 is running firmware version V1.10

Do to the special circumstances let me be the first to throw our RR founder a lifeline. Reading the numerous threads in this forum leads me to this conclusion. While I have a G5, I have not messed with BT because of other users feedback. Most are not having success with IPods. Most are not having success with BT because of a connect disconnect beep that competes with audio. Many are waiting for a BT version update with the next FW update.

Yeah, this mirrors my findings. Unication will need to tweak the BT interfaces before it will be useful. I anxiously await such a tweak.

I'll mirror what others have said. My G5 won't pair with AirPods, my PrimeBlue RSM, Bose Sound Link- the only thing I have successfully paired with is a Plantronics Explorer 110. However, while using it with the 110, the G5 reset several times,(for seemingly no particular reason). I gave up on using BT.

I used a Plantronics PLT 165 bluetooth ear piece and it worked well, never dropped out.

I am utilizing the Unication Smart Dual Bluetooth Headset with my G5 Pager. The headset works well BUT there is a beep at the beginning of every single voice transmission from the G5 Pager that over rides the first part of every single voice transmission. David from Unication has acknowledged that the beep is there and has indicated that Unication is working to eliminate beep.

I'm also using a Plantronics m165 and it beeps at the start of every transmission. Unfortunately firmware 1.2 doesn't seem to have fixed it.

I wonder if they decided to back out the BT changes for the final 1.20 release. I've not been able to update my G5 (tool produces an error), maybe because I have a beta version. What version are you showing after doing the update ?

HAPPY to report all my BT devices have NO ring tones Thanks Unication. :0))
Jabra mini - Jabra classic ear piece, Lutu FM cup shaped* BT transmitter for car, Smart OmiHoop headphones and Doocooler BT transceiver and receiver all working perfect with no ring tones. Working good after new firmware update 1.20 and new PPS saved profiles 5.4 instead of older 4.9 PPS.

Are you saying they DID have the tones before 1.20?

Yes, they all did. ESPECIALLY the Lutu Cup shaped FM transmitter for my car. Shrill, loud ring tone before each Talk-group transmission using the Unication G5 in my car. I used to have to do a double team with the Doocooler paired to the G5, then tethered the 3.5 wire output to the Lutu FM adapters 3.5 input, THEN it would work with no tones on my car radio speakers. All work now with no call tones. SAVING the code plug-profiles under the 3.14.10 PPS gives you version 5.4 showing on tab "D" under "version" uploading that new version (used to show 4.9) got everything working.

After everything got wiped out due to the new Firmware, you probably have to re-pair your other devices. I had to. Also had to press OK* for the device key 0000 that shows up when you add a new device for BT to pair. My cup shaped Lutu FM adapter was a hard pair with the other firmwares. This one saw the device and even had the full name listed on my pager to pair with. Using that in my car over the speakers is great now with no tones. I had to hold down the call button on my Jabra mini and classic ear phones for a second or two then release, the voice said to go ahead and find device on your pager's list.

Very happy to say that pairing for the G4/G5 to the Motorcycle Sena Bluetooth devices for helmets works well after the firmware update. Was able to pair and no tones. Going to be a great riding season this year :).

Also to Note is that there are different Types of the G5. some with BT2.0 some with BT4.0 some with BT4.0+BLE

I also was able to pair it with a Plantronics 5200 and get the beginning BEEP
