Unication G5 Supports Multiple 2-Tone Codes Per Frequency

During this whole COVID-19 pandemic quarantine, I ahve found myself digging a bit deeper in to some of the features of my radios that I haven't explored all that much in the past. For example, I have been using my Uniden SDS100 in the Tone-Out Search mode to find out some more local fire department tones.

As a result, I put them in my AnyTone AT-D878UV. That works absolutely great! There are tones and I hear the call paged out for my fire department.

Anyway, that brings me to the purpose of this post. I am starting to do some planning to see how to program my Unication G5 for alerting. I just checked the Unication website and it states that the Unication G5 "Supports Multiple 2-Tone Codes Per Frequency". Certainly there must be a finite number. How many is it? Does it depend on the firmware version in my G5?

I'm pretty sure its 16 defined tones per frequency.
These sixteen may be A/B tones or Long tones.

I don’t know if the actual max number but the current in the wild f/w does not do stacked tones well, the new 1.3 beta is working fantastic with out stacked tones and the pager is working how it should with alerts, the TG hold and lockout are also working great

So, when you refer to "stacked tones", I assume that means more than one set of tone for a given frequency, right?

Also, when you refer to ..."the pager is working how it should with alerts, the TG hold and lockout are also working great" does this mean you are using a conventional VHF/UHF frequency or a trunked talkgroup for paging?

Thank you for the reply. Is that problem unique to the Unications or do others, say Motorola Minitors for example, also have problems with stacked tones?

I have never had a Minitor fail to alert on any stack of pages, no matter how many were sent in short succession. I assume it's something unique to Unication, where they need to shorten the permissible gap between sets of tones so that they all alert properly.

We are using trunked TG for paging on the unication, also have tones simulcast to our old VHF for any members with old pagers and for our IAR two tone detect

It definitely had something to do with the gap as one of the fixes was to get rid of the delay n option on the 1.2 f/w. Not sure what they changed on the 1.3 but it worked
