I have come across a Federal TRS, unknown to me, near MSU/Starkville.

My best guess is that is part of Columbus AFB, Lowndes Co.

Here are the details so far:
-System Specs;
Motorola Type II UHF TRS with APCO25 Encoding (Analog usage unknown)
-Base Config:
Base freq=406.0000 MHz
Space=12.5
Offset=380
-Frequencies:
406.3625
406.5625
406.7625
406.9625 - CC
-Talkgroups(DEC): (I do not have an APCO 25 card :()
16
1328
1360
1392
1424
1776

If anyone in the area of Columbus/Starkville can ID this system I can submit it to the RRDB :)

Thanks all !

It kind of looks like the trunked systems that the Federal Bureau of Prisons are using in all their facilities. Are you possibly picking up the FCI in Yazoo City?

seems too far for me to pick up. You know where Starkville/MSU, MS is? I can barely pick up stuff from the county North of me. I am in Oktibbeha Co.
Yazoo City is across the state.
There is an Air Force base in Columbus ( Lowndes Co.) that could be possibly utilizing this TRS. There is Apco-25 encoding being used on all I have heard and my scanner does not have an Apco-25 card in it. I have a BC250D (cardless though :( ). So I don't know the traffic on it, which I am disappointed about; makes it hard for me to ID any.

Hmm,... may go to a local Radioshack and input the freq's in one of their scanners and listen to it :)

HAAA....Victory is mine! (As Stewie of "Family Guy" would say in this situation :) )

Hmm... didn't think about that.

Well hopefully the local Radioshack will let me "try out" one of their digital scanners and I can decode the transmissions.

Gosh college budget stinks lol.

Yep, I've been to Starkville, but didn't know how good an antenna you had...

I think the only way you're going to ID this is by listening to what they are saying!

Oh, sorry about that lol.

I am using a Uniden BC250D (handheld) with a Radioshack 800 MHz antenna on it.

I do appreciate the input though :) I didn't even know where a federal prison (if any) was in MS. If I ever travel to the Yazoo area I will surely be on the listening-lookout.

This antenna has done impressive recieving for me though. My hometown is Ocean Springs, Jackson Co. I have been able to pick-up (with correct weather) Mobile, AL and even Hattiesburg ... using my BC250D inside my house :) ! I was thrilled!

You're correct - that is the new Motorola APCO-25 trunked system for Columbus AFB. Here are all the output frequencies that the system can use 406.3625, 406.5625, 406.7625, 406.9625, 407.9625, 408.7625, and 410.3625.

More information on this system can be found by reading the contract at fbodaily.com:
