Good morning, all!
Have been hearing sporadic P25 comms on 170.0250 MHz with NAC656. "610 on White Tanks." Field unit calling to a dispatch running license plates and operator licenses. I had this frequency as Weaver Helitack with the Bureau of Land Management in the past and some sources list this as a frequency specific to BLM. The comms do sound like they are enforcing "14-day stays" and giving verbal and written warnings to people operating off road vehicles, but if anyone else can confirm what agency is using this, that would be greatly appreciated! Happy hunting!

I've had this listed as BLM White Tanks 3 for a while, I don't have any other notes on it.

Did it sound like BLM type traffic? I missed getting to the scanner in time apparently :/

Interesting most Agencies use some sort of conversion to equal the old PL
$67C = 1660

Such as they did for Oatman in the Pheonix Dist
146.2 became $5B6

It did. That was Wednesday evening.

Yesterday, 165.6000 was active with a NAC of 67C, IIRC.

"some sort of conversion"? It is simply taking the decimal point out of 146.2, making 1462, and converting that to HEX. Also 1660->166.0->67C. You can easily do this in a MS-Windows calculator by changing view to "Programmer". (In some versions of Windows, you have to find the old calculator which it there but a "new" (less useful one) often appears instead in places.) Regarding 47C, going backwards, 47C->1148->114.8 Not all stations going from FM with a PC use this conversion but many do. Similarly a NAC of $656 (in the first post of the thread) corresponds to a 162.2 PL conversion. One user of this NAC is BATFE but I have not seen this as one of its frequencies.

Yes, some sort :) others don't

Some do the HEX to Decimal and others just go with 167.9 = $167, or 156.7 = $156

$656 would only have been seen on an ATF input for NET-06 as the output would be $650

So, poking around the interwebs, I happened across a document from April 2017 that shows 170.0250 as a BLM 'Fire TAC 2' frequency for the Safford BLM district. About the best loose confirmation (read: WAG) I can come up with at this time.
