Uniden 246T - Firmware Upgrade Issue?

I am trying to install the new firmware and when I do the LO and #6 button then plug the AC adapter in I get the blank screen. However, I get a communication error every time. I can not longer start the scanner up. If I put the batteries in it and turn it on it turns off within a second.

Any ideas?

Thankfully I tried a new cable and it worked.
