Uniden 250 Antenna 900 Mhz

I have seen a lot of discussions about getting better antennas for handheld scanner. Mostly about improving the 800 Mhz range. I just got a Bearcat 250 and want to improve my recpetion especially in the 900 Mhz range. What antenna (portable) would be best for that?

900 SMR band?

What azre you trying to listen to?

How bad is it now? (How much improvement do you need?)

The 800 RadioShack antenna should do fine at 900. When you get into these higher bands it doesn't seem as critical.

Mine works great at 900.

I am trying to get better reception on 937 MHz. The reason is my business is on that frequency. On occasions I like to monitor the radio from home. I am about 25 miles from the antenna and I get sporatic reception. I think all I need is something just a little better and I will be OK. Any suggestions is appreciated

I would bet the "best" a scaner mounted antenna is going to do will be minimal. If you were getting the signal constantly, but a bit scratchy, then it might clean up.

I would say you need to get some additional height, but if you use a base antenna you will need to use good line at 900 MHz.
