uniden 296d software???

is there any place on the web that offers free trial programming software for the unoden 296d handheld scanner??? like win-96 does for radio shacks pro-96

There used to be a good program on bensware.com called TrunkManager... for some reason, Ben isn't posting it/releasing it any longer.... not sre why.

Ok - so that didn't help much - sorry.

The softwarde that came with the 296 wasn't too good...

Go here and look under DOWNLOADS - the software for the 296 is there and it's free.

Ben Saladino took his Radio Manager/Trunk manager software off, as he wrote me, because he had very little time to update his software, and saw that there are many packages out there for the scanners he used to support.

I think ARC250 has a 30 day trial, Scan Control has a function limit (limited to 3 banks) - check the software listing section found here...
