Uniden 346XT Radio IDs

With the new firmware update, Uniden states it adds support for storing Unit IDs in channels with alpha tags

Does anyone know how to program this in an EDACS system? I have a list of all the Unit IDs and their Alpha tags (IE. 6200 = WFS Mobile), but I have no idea how to get it into the radio. I've set the scanner to show the unit id, but I can't figure out how to add alpha tags.

Please advise!

Try programing as an Icall.

Program System
"chose system"
edit group
"Chose group"
Edit channel
New channel: Press ".no" (an "i" should show up)than enter the Unit id
Press yes
edit name
add alpha tag

This worked on my 396Xt, and should be the same for the 346xt

I don't think it will stop on the unit ID. I have all the talk group IDs programed in the system and additionaly the Radio ID's. When a talk group is active the radio displays the TGID and the RID Alpha tag.

The scanner will stop on the RID only because the TGID is active, so the scanner is doing nothing different, except it now shows the RID. I punched in the alpha tags for several RID.'s of the PD in my hometown and the RID's alpha tag showed up on each TGID within the group I originally programmed it.
