You'll have to do better than saying 'the whole process' - what do you mean by that? It's much too vague.

Let's start with a few links - if you don't understand trunking, read the overview section in the third link. The fourth one is our link to the DMA FAQ - Dynamic Memory Architecture is the way memory is organized on these scanners. The first 2 are the user guide for FreeScan, and a link to ProScan. These are currently the only software on the market to support the 346.

This may or may not help you - but I see that you are a subscriber, so you might consider downloading FS and just experimenting with local conventional and trunked systems and seeing what happens. Check out how the software is organizing things and how the radio receives. Check out how things like quick keys will work for you to turn on and off the things you want to scan. Get a practical feel for how systems differ from sites and channels. DON'T spend a whole lot of time making the alpha tags pretty or readable or doing other time-consuming setup work until you've had a chance to fiddle around and see how things work and what will work for YOU and your systems of interest. One of the great things about using the software is that you can keep copying, deleting, etc. until you're happy - but do the "mock up" and trial runs first. I hope that helps. For me, reading a manual only goes so far. YMMV.
