How do I do the 3 line display? thank you.. I thought that was for the 536?
 Sorry your right, I'm falling asleep at the keyboard, thought you were referring to the 536. Seeing the 436 from 7 feet away, seriously? I had trouble seeing it while I was holding it in my hand!

May I suggest... 1600973286668.png

Since Jon Wienke does modifications for the 436 radios, I would love to see him do something with the 436 screen. I don't expect a SDS100 screen, but a brightness modification would be awesome! Hint...hint...

Sorry, that's out of my expertise, especially without schematics and stuff.

If you got an older second hand scanner it could have that dim display issue that Uniden fixes for free.

You have both contrast and backlight dim settings in the 436. I use the highest setting of 15 for contrast and the backlight dimmer to Low, and the High setting are pretty bright to me. But you'll need a good eye sight to read the small text at a 7ft distance but the display light and contrast shouldn't be a problem.
