I have 3 Uniden portable scanners, the UBC3500XLT, the BR330T and the BCD396T. On my UBC3500 and my BR330T I have just noticed that at any time my Memory capacity says 68% full then no more data can be stored.

I have seen others say that they had only used 62% of their memory storage space up but I am thinking that they really have 6% space left as opposed to the 38% they think they have left.

Since this has happened on two of my Uniden scanners I am just posting this for anyone who doesn't realise. I do not have many locked frequencies stored and I hardly use any Alpha tags either. I will see what happens with my BCD396T with regards to this.

My BR330T also shows this behavior. I would be happier if the scanner showed 100% instead of the about 68% which it shows. I actually counted up all the channels in my BR330T and at about 68% I was actually using all 2500 channels. I have about the same number of channels in my BCD396T, but it shows 45% used.

I believe the 396 stays at a low memory level because alpha tags dont count towards the total amount (i.e. alpha tags wont waste extra memory).. the other scanners maybe be 68% full of channels but the alpha tags make it 100%.
But i agree with you they should show 100% if they are 100% full
