• Effective immediately we will be deleting, without notice, any negative threads or posts that deal with the use of encryption and streaming of scanner audio.

We've noticed a huge increase in rants and negative posts that revolve around agencies going to encryption due to the broadcasting of scanner audio on the internet. It's now worn out and continues to be the same recycled rants. These rants hijack the threads and derail the conversation. They no longer have a place anywhere on this forum other than in the designated threads in the Rants forum in the Tavern.

When this Scanner is set to monitor weather alerts, The NWS sends out an alert for my area, Will the scanner give the alert siren for a few seconds then open the recieve so I can here what the weather service it saying for a couple of minuites, then go back into stand-by like my Midland NOAA radio does.
And can I program the S.A.M.E. Event Codes to only sound the alert siren for the events I want to hear or can I select the Event Codes I want to monitor. The Manual is not clear on this. Thanks tor the help

No, the radio does not have the voice option on wx alerts. It only sounds the alert and displays.
No, you cannot select the events to alert on. Any event code transmitted that matches the preprogrammed list may cause the radio to alert.

Whats your situation that you are wanting to use the 780 as a wx alert?
