Uniden 796D/Bad cards??

I'm a member of a news-related board and today a guy posted a message that they've had 5 Uniden 796D scanners that have had "bad" cards requiring them to be sent back and/or repaired. Anyone heard of this statistic? I haven't seen it on this board or anywhere else. By the way, I just got mine today and haven't even unboxed it. I'll be testing it of course so I've got my fingers crossed. But I wanted to share what he was saying in case others have had this experience. His message sounded like he knew a lot about scanners.

My 796 has been at uniden for about 6 weeks, called to find out what was going on with it and they said they were awaiting a new scanner to replace mine, not refurbished but new, must have some real problems with that model. scannerdweeb.
