Uniden 996T

Has anyone tried to pre-amo a Uniden 996T. I seem to be just on the fringe of a couple of systems that I would like to monitor.
I'm wondering if the radio could handle a pre amp ?

It can, especially if you're out away from the urban areas. Before you do that, though, try improving your antenna/coax situation. What are you using now? 73 Mike
