I did look at the SPECS and it was able to decode C4FM and CQPSK back then. Not sure if that radio would of been able to solve the LSM Simulcast System back then.

These are very nice, my last Bearcat is a BC780XLT and time to upgrade. I just wish there was a Bluetooth interface so I could get the scanner audio through my hearing aids by the way of Bluetooth. Sure would be nice to get the audio from the scanner through Bluetooth, maybe the someone on RR knows way.

There are several ways to get bluetooth audio from your scanner. :wink:
Look up bluetooth adapter on google and go from there, OR look here;

I'd have to agree with that.

I paid $400 for the PRO-2006 when it was first offered for sale from Radio Shack in 1991.

According to the CPI inflation calculator, that is $685 in today's dollars.

$600 is a lot of dough for a scanner, but it is easily rationalized as roughly 8 tanks of gas for my P/U, one month of property taxes, or two pair of Redwing Boots that are still US made (only a few models left, however)

Going to wait a bit to see what other members think...

Back in 1990 I bought a Pro2006 for $400.00. And that radio is junk compared to these two scanners.

The 2006 is considered a very desirable model by many. It doesn't have all the latest features, but is still very good for what it does.

I have a 2004, 2006, a 43 and a 2042 and wouldn't trade them for a 436, 536 or HP 1 or 2 any day of the week.

Scanner technology kept up (sofar, somewhat) with radio technology, bus as receivers, these are some of the best ever made!

You'll have to do like I did...use a virtual machine and run it on windoze. I use VMware with no problem in my Mac Mini and MacBook

I gotta get with this.... I have a Touch M400, then got the BCD996T, and now I need one of these. I'll be establishing a "GoFundMe" page to support my habit. Feel free to contribute liberally and often to my cause! (The scanners are getting more expensive than radios in some cases!!)
