Uniden antenna for the car

I found this antenna on the Uniden website:
BATG0521001 - Mobile mounting antenna for scanners. Replaces AT002

Has anyone used this antenna before? How well did it work?

Its doesn't work very well at all. All it is is a wire with a bnc connector on one end.

its ok but not the best the bc 350 c comes with one from factory

If I only wanted to use it for listening to the CB frequencies, would it be ok?

That almost is identical to the one they ship with the BCT-8.

I used it once when I first received the BCT-8, that was years ago.

As far as working good with CB, it doesn't work well. You will be able to pick them up but not far at all. I wouldn't waste the money on it personally.

I used one of those for awhile in my car and it was 1x worse than an AM-FM scanner antenna coupler, and 2x worse than the Tram 1199 glass mount antenna I currently have. The Tram 1199 DOES receive CB within about a 5 mile radius. Best is to do a permanent mount on the vehicle. But if you can't, through the glass is the next best option. In my SUV I have a permanent Mount wide band antenna.. The suction cup one we are talking about I used as a Base Antenna.. In the vehicle it Super Sucks. Came with my BCT12. Thanks for the links.. Will check them out later...

Tell us what frequencies you think it works great at. Bet it is not low band channels. Maybe it works well at UHF.

I'm in Maine... 150 ish for most all transmissions. I'm not trying to promote the antenna.. Just when I used it for that time.
