I have one of these old scanners here at my office so i can listen to it when im working. I can program it just fine and it works great until the power goes out, when power is returned it has lost everything. I have ripped it apart and found no battery backup in this thing at all. Im kinda lost and need pointed in the right direction.

I used to feel your pain:) I had a BC560XLT that had memory loss too. Any time I unplugged it, or we lost power, had to re-enter all my frequencies. I know that there were those that used batteries to maintain memory, but, it's been at least 15 years since owning it. Maybe hooking it to a UPS will work.
