Uniden BC 855 XLT

Is this scanner still capable of picking up signals? I have had it for ages. I am not sure what a "trunking" system is but it seems that everything where I live (St. Clair, MI. In St. Clair County) is on it, at least for police and fire. I can pick up some chatter from the local power plant on 452.825 but that it about it.
