Just had a quick question about the Uniden BC-GPSK. I received mine about a year ago, and its recently just started acting up. It wont stay powered on (it powers on for a second or two) when I move the plug end around in the socket. I figured it to be just a bad or lose wire, but everything checks out inside. As I said, I believe its under a year old, so it'll most likely be going back to Uniden, but I wanted to check here first.

I love this little puck, its used in the service truck that is driven every day, and the GPS linked scanning is used constantly. I've put on order two more units for the other service vehicles we use just because GPS based scanning is so convenient.

I suppose you've tried the "pencil eraser contact burnishing" trick. Have you checked the power supply side of this deal? Could be a loose wire on that side.

Yup @ofd8001, all "idiot checks" have been done lol. First step of troubleshooting, assuming everything is wrong and that the operator messed something up..and go from there.

@jonwienke, thats awesome! I've looked extensively for mods for the BCT15X and its associated parts, and I've never seen this. Is there a pin out of the wiring so I can make one of these?

Just found your post Jonwienke, very impressed with the GPS work. I might go your route and integrate the GPS into the scanners, fun stuff! Much reading ahead lol
