Uniden BC250D Question on system recieving.

Hello,

Im looking into purchasing the Uniden BC250D digital scanner. I found a great deal on it and am ready to buy but I have on concern. According to this site the area in which I live is planend to upgrade to the "ASTRO 6.3" system. Will the unit I'm looking at be able to pick up this system?

i cant say- buy a bcd396t- the firmware is upgradable.

if uniden can make a radio do it, i would think the 396 would be the choice right now.

the 250 was a good radio in its time- it has been discontinued for about
a year now.

According to http://www.radioreference.com/apps/wiki/index.php?title=Motorola_Trunked_Infrastructure_Versions, it looks like 6.3 is a P25 system. If so, then the BC250D will not be able to track on the system. You will need one of the following:

BC296D
BC796D
BC396D
PRO-96
PRO-2096
