I'm looking to get a scanner mostly to monitor my local fire and police dept. in Ypsilanti, Michigan. I was wondering if the Uniden BC355C 800MHz 300-Channel Base Mobile Scanner would be a good scanner to purchase. Any comments are helpful and appreciated! Thank you!

All of your county is on the Michigan Public Safety Communications System (MPSCS) Trunking System, Statewide, Multi-State - Scanner Frequencies.

You will need a digital trunked scanner to monitor this system.

The BC355C is a basic conventional scanner. It can not receive trunked analog or digital systems.
