I am looking at a Uniden BC785D for mobile use, and listening to the CT State Police. Do you think this would be a good investment or should I look at others.

I currently have a a BC250D, and need something louder.

All comments appreciated.

It looks like the BC796D is a better option, and was curious if anyone had used either or both.

Thanks again.

The 785 and 796 are both discontinued now and the 785 is not supported for rebanding. If you can get a good price on a used 796, go for it. Otherwise consider a BCD996T or PRO-2096.

The price seemed too good, which would be Ok for now but I think I will save a little more and get the 996.
Thanks

Get an amplified set of speakers for your car or get the cassette adapter for cd players and plug it into your cassette player and use your cars cassette player to increase the volume.
