Hi Everyone,

I'm not having any good luck here receiving "I-Calls" for the NJSP Troop-C 800mhz TRS System. I am using Butel's AR250 Pro Software with my BC796D Scanner and I do have I-Call checked off for the global settings in all Banks/Talkgroups in the software and I programmed in .000000 as the wild-card Talkgroup setting for a 700000 Motorola Type-II Talkgroup. What am I doing wrong here? Or, does the NJSP Troop-C even use I-Calls currently? Any feedback and help would certainly be appreciated. Thank you.

Goto Menu-2-2-(bank number)-9 and select on/off/only

kb2unk,

I don't know that system you monitor, but the state system (P25) I monitor I set ICall to On for all systems I've got in my 796s.

But at the same time I have programmed in specific Talk Groups I want to monitor and I do no ID Search scanning at all. So I don't want or use the Talk Group wildcards.

My 785 D systems are set as indicated in this pic. Hampton (bank 2) is EDACS so the 7 is replaced with the letter i. I use ID SCAN with scan list 10 selected.

Hello again,

Thanks everyone for the great feedback and information for programming I-Calls in to my BC796D Scanner! Well stupid me! I was doing some more reading in the forums here and I happened to notice that I did not have this I-Call freq. of 866.0125mhz programmed in to the scanner, with the rest of the (14) frequencies that I had for the NJSP TRS Troop-C System. Which are: 856.7125, 857.2125, 857.7125, 858.2125, 858.7125, 859.2125, 859.7125, 860.2125, 860.7125, 866.6125, 867.2125, 867.6625, 868.1375, 868.5125. So, now that I've also programmed in 866.0125 in with the rest of them and having 700000 as the Talkgroup Wildcard, all is working AOK now! All is great now and I'm hearing all if the I-Calls! So thanks again to everyone for all of the expert help and everyone have a great 4th of July Holiday!

You can also program I-Calls for EDACS using the radio ID to hear traffic from just them (when talking to another via Individual/I-Call).

For example I have these programmed into my BC780 for our county’s air units so I can hear them when they talk directly with a single unit.

i10991 - Star91
i10992 - Star92
i10993 - Star93
i10995 - Star95
i10996 - Star96

The i10XXX is their radio ID. Since the helicopters always have the same radio it works very good for this purpose. I also did the same for the dispatch consoles so whenever they try to raise a unit via Individual I can still hear them.

It's cool that Unidens let you do I-Calls for both Motorola and EDACS.
