uniden bcd396t and bcd996t programming

I just downloaded the arc 396 and 996 programming software from butel. I have followed all of the instructions, The programs will open and read the internet from radio reference. Neither will read from the scanners. I have auto detected the com port. Still wont detect the scanner. I am running windows Vista 32 bit. Can anyone help me.

Are you using the serial or USB1 lead? If you use USB1 make sure you installed the correct driver else ARC can't talk with the scanners. Drivers are available from ScannerMaster: Uniden USB Cable

yes I have I am running windows vista. The program will not recognize the usb cable. I downloaded freescan and it works fine. So I know there isn't an issue with the usb cord.

Just to play devil's advocate here - you are using both software and radios of the "T" version, and not trying to cross-over between "T" and "XT" versions, correct?

That's OK I have the T version What is weird is This is my laptop that isnt working on. My desktop it works fine on, no issues I am sure it is something to do with my laptop, just haven't been able to figure it out.

Have you checked & made sure both software & Windows device manager comport assignments are the same?

It's a driver problem. You need to install the vista driver from the scannermaster site.

Maybe I am overlooking something, the only vista info I can find is to go to properties and click administrator setting. I have looked all over the scannermaster and butel websites and cannot find anything ????
