This is pi$$ing me off!!!! Why the heck is my computer saving the downloaded V3 firmware update as a Adobe Acrobat document?! This makes no sense. And so I can't open it or do anything with it. I tried deleting it all from my computer harddrive and starting again and the same thing happened. What the heck is going on?

The Version 3 instructions/notes are a PDF file, perhaps you're confused and picking the wrong file.
It downloads a ZIP file....and you extract the .SCN file. What is the file name you are downloading?

What Worked??????? I am having the same problem (Windows XP) I cannot open the file to update the scanner. I have downloaded the Updater and obtained my ESN & checksum successfully (396). V2 is doing everything I needed and may not go to V3 if this becomes a big headache!! I have extracted the file (so it tells me) but have not located the program to update the scanner. suggestions ?? All lines are open !
You would use the same program you used to update to V2...BC_VUP version 2.0.0.3.

If you have windows xp, you should just be able to double-click the .zip file and it will open. If you are on an older version of windows, you will need 3rd party software like WinZip or WinRAR.
