I am looking at getting a Uniden BCD436HP and I was just wondering if I would be able to hear P25 Phase II trunked with it. If it helps, what I'm trying to listen to is Nassau County Police in NY

Thanks all

Only the talkgroups ID'ed as mode "D" on the system can be monitored but you may encounter some degree of simulcast distortion if you are within monitoring range of two or more cells. You'd be much better off with an SDS100 to monitor the unencrypted talkgroups as the SDS series are the best at mitigating simulcast distortion

If you took the time to read the OP's question he wants to listen to Nassau Police and all Police TGs are DE.

Anything with an E or e in the mode column is encrypted and no acanner can monitor it.
At the risk of being pedantic the lower case e means the channel may be encrypted. One of local systems I monitor has a small e talkgroup that is frequently in the clear. Sounds like this system is big E all around though.

Why would you even ask such a question? You asked 9 months ago and were told they are encrypted.
