Uniden BCD996P2 Audio Feed PC cable

Hey everyone finally into our new house and just now finding time to get everything set back up for my feed. I'm trying to connect this back up to the minipc I have for it for scanner cast but I just have stolen a cable at some point for something else and now can't remember where it goes and I guess I just need confirmation.

To connect the scanner to the PC to support showing talk groups I'll need a USB to 3.5mm aux connector to plug into the back of my scanner right? And I will plug it into the REC port on scanner?

So after cleaning out THAT box we all know the one I'm talking about I think I have this right in my head now.

I run a cable from the front USB mini port to USB on the scanner which will allow the tag data on the stream. Then audio I just run a regular 3.5mm cable from the REC port to the audio jack on the scanner?

Is the rec output audio or is it an open collector or relay closure when the squelch opens?
