Uniden BCD996P2 programming cable

I have a Uniden BCD996P2 scanner that came with a 3 ft programming cable that is a couple feet short for what I need. A 6ft length cable would be great.
The supplied Uniden cable looks like a basic printer cable to me. Is there anything special about the cable design that is specific to this model of scanner?
If there is, perhaps someone could direct me to a proper programming cable for it that is a 6 ft length. Is it possible to use some sort of extension adapter at one end or the other?

It's six foot, and has a ferrite core to help reduce interference. This is from Monoprice. I'ught a bunch of their cables over the years. Quality cables at an affordable price.

get yourself a standard usb extension cable that has the male usb end on one end and a female usb end on the other, there very useful to keep around.

That one is twice the cost of the Monoprice I posted from Amazon. Also, unlike the Monoprice cable, it does not have a ferrite core.

Does the Monoprice cable for the 996P2 also serve to program the BCD536HP and the 325P2, both of which seem to have the same mini-USB socket?

If it works for the 996P2, it will work for the 536HP and the 325P2.

I have a number or different USB Cables bought from the DotCom and different angle plugs as well, they all work well
