uniden bcd996t right choice

hi all ive been out of the scanning loop for a while now my last scanner was the radio shack 2006 pro--i now am looking to get back in the listening seen i was thinking of purchasing the uniden bcd996t is this /will this scanner be overkill for i want to use the scanner to listen to police fire emergency services and aircraft ect any suggetions greatly appriciated thanks--ps im in the peel area brampton

For peel stuff,all you need is a trunk tracking scanner.You will only need a digital capable scanner for listening to the OPP.You will save some $$$ if you don't go digital.
