I've looked everywhere for help on this and cant find anything. I'm in security in Boston and looking to set this scanner up by hand. I have the frequencies for Fire, Police, and EMS. Im trying to program a system to scann through the 3 groups but not having any luck. I used to do satellite communications in the Army (National Guard) so I get the basics of scanners we used to use them a bit. If someone could just give me a quick step by step that would be great. Cant install a program to do it at work and my boss really wants it set up.

field programming

hit the menu button
program system, hit yes
select system,turn knob to new system,hit yes
select sys type, turn to conventional,hit yes
confirm, hit yes
turn knob to edit group,hit yes
new group hit yes
turn knob to edit channel, hit yes
new channel hit yes
input freq xxx.xxxx (type in your freqs here,hit yes with each)
to put in more than one hit the menu
when done
just hit scan and it will
you can go back anytime and add a name to it.
even if your county has a trunked system it will probably have some conventional
and they could even be in the 800 mhz area
ok so that is how to field program the radio.for a regular system
