Hey guys, I am having "in and out" reception with my Uniden BCT15 scanner receiving FDNY EMS dispatch frequencies. Sometimes it comes in perfectly and other times not so much. This is never the case on my Vertex VX 800 portable. I have everything set correctly, freq, pl, modulation to fm. Anyone know what to do? Tried repositioning nothing seems to work.

By "in and out" do you mean that the audio cuts out on a regular interval (like every 2 seconds or every 5 seconds)? If so, you have a priority feature turned on.
Otherwise, the scanner has a much wider front end than your Vertex, so is going to be more subject to signal overload and interference. You might try turning on attenuation to see if that helps reception.
