Could I ask anyone owning a 15x that was purchased in the USA to tell me what it lists as the country of origin. I keep reading that there is duty on radios coming from the USA and I was searching a site to see if there was duty and one of the questions was C/O which I don't know.
Thanks

What is the country of destination? The U.S. has some strict restrictions with regards to shipping some technologies to certain destinations. Same with firearms related items.

Country of destination Canada, country of export USA, country of origin ?, I have a Uniden radio ( Sportcat 200 ) that was manufactured in the Philippines, I don't imagine it will make a difference as long as it wasn't made in the USA. Thanks everyone for your input.

I had to take mine apart today (again) because the stupid ribbon cable that connects the faceplace controls to the board went monkey on me. All buttons stop working and only the knobs work. 2nd time I've had to fix it. If I didn't love the thing so much I'd have gotten rid of it long ago.

If I remember I'll check it's manufacturing location next time I use it

I have read that the plug does become dislodged from it's base, but it is an easy fix for those willing to take the radio apart and have a look. Good work.

The BCT15X has been in production for an unusually long time. It was introduced in 2009 and manufactured in China. In 2010 Uniden moved its manufacturing to Viet Nam where it remains today. Uniden has never manufactured scanners in the US. The very earliest scanners were made in Taiwan. Production soon moved to the Philippines and there were two different factories there. In 2003 production was moved to China.

Yes, that's exactly what happens which is odd because I baby the thing, it looks brand new to boot. I unseated then reseated the ribbon cable and it works again, it's just a pain removing 8 or so screws to get to it but an easy fix. Hopefully this time it's fixed for good
