i'd like to know if I can use the wire antenna that came with my BCT8 scanner... i see in the wiki the OCF antenna made with 48"/18" copper pipe...
can I just split the antenna wire open that came with the scanner, and make the inner wire 48", and the shield wire18"? will that work the same?
or do i need to actually make the another antenna, and connect the wires from the scanner antenna, to the copper pipes, and will I still need the TV 300>75 balun if i am not using coax, or is the coax necessary?
